How to maintain the fluidmaster side entry water inlet valve.

Welcome to your fluidmaster side entry maintenance page.

If your inlet valve is not shutting off or is slow running I have just the answers you need.

First you need to turn off your water supply to your toilet tank or roof tank, depending on what your fluidmaster side entry valve is feeding.

The isolation/shutoff valve should be to the side of your tank.

Test the water is off by depressing the float on your valve.

If the water has not stopped running you may need to shut your main water supply off. Click on back button to return.
Solution to an inlet valve that won't shut off

You will need to change the diapram of your valve.

First hold the large white nut and twist a 1/4 turn anticlockwise.(This nut is connected to a small float arm)

Once you have done this pull the nut away from the valve.

You will now see the diaphram.

The old diapram can now be pulled away from valve.

Get new diaphram and position over small stainless pin.

Ensure the diaphram side with the longer tit goes towards the stainless pin.

Check in valve for grit and dirt. You may need to quickly turn water on then off to flush out valve, before puting valve back together.

Now line up large white nut with valve lugs and tight 1/4 turn clockwise.

Turn water back on and test.

You may need to adjust water level.

This is adjusted by a screw with a cross at the top of valve.

Congratulations, your fluidmaster side entry maintenance is completed.

If your cistern is slow to fill.

If your supply pressure is low ie. you water comes from a header/roof tank, make sure your replacement diaphram is suitable for low pressure.

If your fed off good pressure but your fill is still slowwww......
