The repair
Turn on lowest tap (usually bath tap) to drain some of the water in pipes.Dry leaking section thoroughly. This may take some time if water pipe is under house as all the water in pipes will have to drain through the leak. Cut small section of rubber to cover leak. Apply silicone to both rubber and pipe. Place rubber patch over hole. Undo stainless hose clip and wrap around pipe and rubber seal. Tighten firmly. You're doing well. All we have to do now is let the silicone set for a while Usually 10-20 hrs depending on temperature. Now turn the water back on. NB This is an emergency repair. To do a permanent repair. 1. You need to cut out the leaking section and weld in new piece. 2. Cut out leaking section and repair with crox connections or olive joints.
