Costly water leaks, caused by your toilet valve, can be fixed as simply as abc.
I'm going to show your how to change the diapram in your toilet valve in minutes.
Better still, you won't need a single tool.
To save wasted time and effort check out what's actually leaking in your toilet
Once you have sorted for sure, what part is leaking, click on your back button to return. Welcome back:) man that was quick. Right down to the nitty gritty. 1. Lift the lid on your cistern/toilet tank. 2. You will see a valve that is similar to the photos shown below. (Don't worry if there are differences the priciples are the same.
The float valve fails for 1 of 2 reasons A. The diaprham has perished with age. B. A small amount of grit has been caught between the diaphram and the valve seat. First, you need to turn off the water at your cistern cock. (shut off valve below or to the side of toilet tank.)Turn clockwise. Now...To get to the diaprham simply turn the top of the valve a quarter turn anticlockwise. (Some valves may have a small plastic pin you need to pull out before the top will releaseThis will be easy to spot.)Fluidmaster valves have no pin.
The diaprham is a black rubber washer about and inch/25mm in diameter with a pin hole in the centre.Pull the diaphram off and check for wear or grit. If grit is present wash in a bucket of water and replace diaphram. If the diaprham is worn, get replacement and install.
Reassemble float valve by putting top back on and giving a quarter turn clock wise.Turn water back on and test. Congratulations your a plumbing mega star./*****
