How to make a waste pipe joint

If there's one joint that better not fail it's a waste pipe joint.

Muck up on this one and you'll be designing a breeding ground for bacteria, disease and.....cockroaches (Yuuuck)

Don't worry, I'll show you how to make a waste pipe joint that will never drip a drop.

Make the joint

You'll need

1. Rag.

2. Hacksaw

3. PVC pipe cleaner.

4. PVC solvent (Glue)

5. PVC bends or sockets

6. Gloves

7. Breathing mask if possible (if not make joint in well ventilated area.)

Whether your making a socketed joint or a bend the principle of the joint is the same.

Measure the length of pipe you need, and cut to length.

Use rag, to wipe off burs left from cut.

Push the pipe it socket and mark around end of socket. This will show how far the joint goes in, when you glue joint.

This can also help when setting an angle for an off set.

Pull pipe out of socket.

Clean spigot end of pipe and inside of socket with pvc pipe cleaner.

Wipe inside of socket and spigot end of pipe with rag.

Apply solvent (glue) to socket and spigot. (Don't be stingy with the glue.)

Push home to marks.

Wipe excess solvent off with rag.

Hold for 20 seconds and hey, you've completed your mission.
